Yesterday we met with the leading staff of the National Agency for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Mr. Giorgi Gagoshidze and Ms. Manana Vardzelashvili. We learned a lot of interesting things about the existing laws on the preservation of cultural heritage and the criteria for their selection. As it turns out, of the many Georgian mosaics from the 20th century, only one holds this status. As an outcome of our meeting, we are going to launch a campaign to grant the status of cultural heritage to Georgian mosaics and form an application for certain artistically valuable works to also be granted this status.
