The mosaic located on the territory of Zestaponi Ferroalloy Plant evaded destruction.
Through the efforts of our foundation and the funding of the non-governmental organization, DRC (Danish Refugee Council), the remaining fragment of the beautiful mosaic created by Demur Basheleishvili was moved to Khoni and placed on the main wall of a cultural center for refugees from Abkhazia.
We would like to thank the head of the DRC Representative in Georgia, Mr. Vincent Dontot, for his support in preserving this cultural heritage! We would also like to express our gratitude to Mr. Bachana Basilaia, Chairman of the Khoni IDP Initiative Group, who contributed to the timely and effective implementation of the project.
